The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Decatur Book Festival draws big crowds of literature lovers to the Decatur Square over Labor Day weekend. They pick from among scores of author talks and signings, arts events, a street marketplace and more.

Atlantans begrudging the annual Labor Day traffic nightmare this weekend may have more than Dragon Con to blame, according to a recent ranking.

In Travel Channel's recent "21 Top-Searched Cities for Long Weekends" list, Atlanta ranked No. 4 in America for U.S. cities most searched for on travelchannel.com for long weekend getaways. Chicago ranked No. 1, Las Vegas made it to No. 2 on the list and the Big Apple rounded out the top three cities users seek out for their weekend excursions.

Travel Channel editors credit attractions like World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, as the city 's appeal to travelers with children or those who are kids at heart.

With any long weekend attracting a bevy of out-of-towners, this weekend—bringing in spectators of the Chick-fil-A kickoff game, visitors attending Atlanta Black Pride and the avid congoers—will especially be a treat for visitors and a potential migraine for locals.

Cheers to the weekend.
