This Valentine's Day, consider a short getaway to Georgia's most romantic destination: Savannah's River Street.

The raucous River Street, about four hours from metro Atlanta, was recently ranked the best romantic destination in the state in travel magazine Travel+Leisure's state-by-state list.

The Savannah boulevard is popular for its shops, boutiques, eateries and its beautiful scenery overlooking the water.

Couples looking for an urban escape can take a romantic stroll along Savannah’s River Street. The historic waterfront path is constructed from cobblestone that’s over 200 years old. The street is chock full of cute restaurants, bars, galleries and shops and offers spectacular views of docking cargo ships.
