The Gateway neighborhood is about to get a major kick of flavor with the grand opening of a Latin-infused taqueria and cantina.

Cheeky recently announced the opening of its fifth metro Atlanta restaurant in the Sandy Springs, live-work-play district at 4600 Roswell Rd. Doors open for dinner on Monday, with lunch to follow.

Cheeky president Jalynn Barr said it’s been almost 10 years since opening the first restaurant in Suwanee. But the recipe for success stays the same: a dining experience with flair and personality, centered on made-from-scratch food with locally-owned ingredients.

“We take a lot of pride in our creative menu and are thrilled to bring our fun, playful environment to the Sandy Springs community,” said Barr.

Cheeky’s approach to tasty Latin food is introducing fresh and flavorful recipes. Each dish is tested in-house before serving and comes from original ingredients—nothing is processed. The menu ranges from appetizers and comfort food like wings, taquitos and tacos, to more elaborate dishes such as salads, full plates and Cheeky bowls—loaded with rice, black beans, cheese and lettuce.

To wash it all down, Cheeky’s drink menu features a laundry-list of cocktails, skinny margaritas, mojitos and craft-beer options. And there is no waiting on a bartender: Pour your own beer when you want with Cheeky’s “do-it-yourself” taps.

The location also has a walk-up station, enabling hungry patrons to place their order and go. The restaurant’s location also welcomes four-legged friends, with complimentary dog treats on hands.

While you're there, don't forget to say hello to “Cheeky,” the wide-grinned mascot that is a staple in all of the Georgia locations.

Area residents can swing by the new restaurant daily from 11 a.m. until midnight. For now, dinner is only available and starts at 4:30 p.m.
