Earlier this week, the personal finance site released its “Cities with the Highest and Lowest Credit Scores.” To determine the rankings, the researchers compared the median credit scores of residents in 2,572 American cities. The data was from October 2017 and sourced from TransUnion, a consumer credit reporting agency.

After analyzing the results, they found that four Georgia cities had some of the lowest credit scores in the country. Union City, Riverdale, College Park and Forest Park were all in the bottom 20 nationwide.

Take a look at the average credit scores from each below.

Union City - 569

Riverdale - 569

College Park - 564

Forest Park - 553

Not every city in Georgia fell to the bottom of the pack. Peachtree City ranked in the 88th percentile with an average score of 741, and Evans ranked in the 86th percentile with an average score of 738. Atlanta finished in the 25th percentile with an average score of 662.

Overall, the best credit score in America went to The Villages, Florida. Its average credit score was 807, more than 260 points higher than Camden, New Jersey, which was last with an average credit score of 541.
