The dozens of men whisking down North Highland Avenue on Saturday had some big Speedos to fill.
The seventh annual Atlanta Santa Speedo Run, a 1.5-mile charity run that touts the mantra “wear a little, give a lot,” has raised more than $520,000 for various charities.
The 2016 Atlanta Santa Speedo Run took place Saturday, December 10 at Manuel's Tavern in Virginia Highland. The annual event includes a 1.5 mile run and a party to raise money for a selected Atlanta charity.
Saturday's crew of Speedo-clad men were charged with raising $100,000 toward CHRIS 180's efforts to provide mental health counseling, training, safe housing and real-world skill building for families and youth affected by trauma.
As of Tuesday, Dec. 13, the runners and other supporters helped garner $78,892 of the $100,000 goal for this year’s run.
