The Grant Park Queen Anne-style home was built in 1868 and has 8,450 square feet, seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Known as the Burns Mansion, the home was on the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes.

Many features of the 1868 house are original, and any updates or repairs over the years have been kept as close to authentic as possible, including the cedar shake on the turret and top level, the homeowners said.

The kitchen is the center of their family life, and the layout makes it easy for the homeowners to keep tabs on the many kids who flow in and out. The black cabinet next to the farm table was made for the Millers in North Carolina. The tile was added by a previous owner and designed in a classic Victorian-era style.

When the Millers added the library, they installed a half bath behind a secret door in the built-in bookshelves.

When one of the previous owners expanded the kitchen onto what was a porch, they kept the 40-foot well, but covered it. Another owner cleaned it out, added accent lighting, a granite countertop and a sealed glass cover.

Bradbury & Bradbury paper on the ceiling brings the Victorian feel into the kitchen, which has an unusual feature: a well turned into an island. A flower arrangement by Alvin Moore incorporates deep reds and greens that are found in the decor throughout the home.

Even the Millers' gym is decorated for the holidays. A sports-themed tree is decorated with medals from various events, a garland made from their kids' swim ribbons and a tree skirt fashioned from past jerseys.

The Millers turned to floral designer Alvin Moore for traditional wreaths and holiday arrangements.

The Millers completed a few renovations, including turning two rooms that were nothing but studs into a home gym and a library. The library is Matt's favorite room, a cozy place to enjoy company.

A cheerful holiday mantel is decorated with Christmas cards, an advent box and candles. Throughout the house, 420 flames are lit for the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes, when all electric lights have to be turned off.

The glass chandelier in the formal dining room gives a soft vintage glow.

During the holidays Erin Miller enjoys setting out the fine china and silver to dress up the formal dining room.

The wallpapered formal dining room is centered around the Victorian-style table, which seats plenty of guests for holidays and special occasions.

An intricate pendant in the master bedroom is evocative of torchlight, and the upward-facing bulbs illuminate the ceiling medallion.

Erin Miller likes to incorporate live plants whenever possible for the holiday decor. Poinsettias are a go-to, and she embraces traditional holiday hues such as red.

St. Nicholas welcomes guests during the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes. The Miller family has participated in four tours, and the 1868 home, known as the Burns Mansion, is filled with Victorian-era elements.

Two of the bathrooms in the six-bathroom house have clawfoot tubs added by a previous owner.

The Victorian-style wallpaper in the master bedroom is from Bradbury & Bradbury. James Pond, a previous owner, added a collection of designer wallpaper throughout the house.
