A recent poll showed Georgia citizens overwhelmingly support the cultivation of marijuana in the state to produce cannabis oil, which has been shown to effectively reduce seizures in people suffering from epilepsy and other afflictions. Gov. Nathan Deal and some law enforcement officials have come out against producing the home-grown medicine, saying doing so would take Georgia down the path to recreational usage of marijuana. Today, the state official leading the charge for cultivation updates his mission amid the latest developments, and we recap some of the opposition to in-state cultivation.
