Police say they have not located Wei Cao, the 25-year-old acrobat reported missing from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus since Monday.

Julia Peters, spokeswoman for circus producers Feld Entertainment, said Friday morning that Cao had been located, although Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said that she could not confirm that statement.

Police said late Friday afternoon that Cao is still considered a missing person and that the circus had been misinformed regarding her location when the news release was sent out earlier in the day.

Cao, a Chinese citizen, is due to leave metro Atlanta with the circus on Sunday. She was last seen around 9 a.m. Monday.
