The Mall of Georgia is holding a free Christmas tree lighting celebration on Saturday, complete with a visit from Santa and an outdoor Christmas movie.

The celebration will last from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., centering around the shopping center’s 50-foot Christmas tree. The event will take place in The Village, the mall’s outdoor plaza.

Santa and Papa Elf will make a “special appearance,” according to a news release from the mall, and guests can enjoy music from a DJ, the Salvation Army Band and clogging group APA Superstars.

Christmas favorite “Polar Express” will be played on a 55-foot screen in a special edition of the mall’s “Movie Under the Stars” series. Guests can bring blankets and chairs.

The tree will be lit at 6:30 p.m., followed by the movie at 7 p.m.
