Looking for something a little different to do in Gwinnett County this weekend? We've got you covered — from "beach"-side fun to ballet.

Have a blast on the beach in Snellville: Snellville's fifth-annual "Beach Blast" will run from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The city will bring in an estimated 70 tons of sand, plus a water slide, "water runners," inflatables, food, live music and more.

This year's festivities also include a dedication of Snellville's new Towne Green. It all takes place in front of City Hall, 2342 Oak Road.

Touch a truck and meet a princess: From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Notre Dame Academy and the city of Duluth is hosting this free event that gives youngsters a chance to "explore vehicles of all shapes and sizes." They'll also be able to meet and take pictures with their favorite Disney princesses — Anna and Elsa from "Frozen." Chick-fil-A will also be on-site.

The school is located at 4635 River Green Parkway in Duluth.

Run through a rock quarry (legally): For the more adventurous crowd, Gwinnett's first-ever Quarry Crusher Run will take participants through Norcross' Vulcans Material Quarry. Festivities begin at 8 a.m. Saturday. The event benefits Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation and a pair of local schools.

The quarry is at 1707 Beaver Ruin Road.

Check out Beauty, the Beast and ballet: The Northeast Atlanta Ballet will have special encore presentations of its "Beauty and the Beast" show at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Sunday. They'll perform at the Infinite Energy Center theater.

Advance tickets start at $15.50 and are available here.
