Thrillist is a major fan of the Barleygarden.
Earlier this year, the website named the beer garden nestled in Alpharetta's Avalon development one of the 21 best beer gardens in the country. Barleygarden was created by Kraig Torres and his team at Hop City. It opened in Avalon this past April.
Now, Thrillist says that Barleygarden is one of the 17 best new restaurants in metro Atlanta. It was the only one from north Fulton County featured on the list.
Of Barleygarden, Thrillist writes: “The partnership between Torres and Kevin Ouzts of The Spotted Trotter is a meaty and sudsy match made in heaven, or literally Avalon, because the rooftop beer garden atmosphere stays extremely casual — which is important when you’re wolfing down a perfect pastrami grilled cheese sandwich.”

Barleygarden features two patios, one on the ground and one on the roof, and a versatile beer menu that changes daily. The menu spans from Buffalo wings and fried cauliflower to burgers, brauts and salads.
It has a to-go walk-up window, which is a great bonus since Avalon allows alcoholic beverages to be consumed throughout the development.
Barleygarden’s hours are 12:30 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.
