'Mold-like substance' reported at Gwinnett Korean restaurant

A Korean restaurant in Duluth failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting a "mold-like substance" in the ice machine and a hand sink in disrepair.

Seoul Restaurant, located at 3585 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., received a 56/U following Monday's evaluation.

In addition to the ice machine violation, the inspector's report noted "several" unlabeled or mislabeled foods, the prep cooler not being cool enough and kimchi being "served two weeks after preparation." Hand-washing sinks were either in "disrepair" or used to store other objects.

"Turned on hand sink, water began to spray out in the middle of the restaurant," the report said.

Attempts to reach the restaurant for comment Wednesday were unsuccessful. A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Monday's evaluation.
