King of Pops selling Christmas trees is not new. The Atlanta-based business began delivering them years ago, through a venture called Tree Elves.

But here's what is a first: Kings of Pops selling Christmas trees at Ponce City Market, which also marks the first time the market has had a tree lot on its premises. The marriage seems like a natural fit, as Kings of Pops Bar and Food Grub opened in the food hall years ago.

Big Nick's Tree Lot allows buyers to take their tree home or place an order for delivery via the aforementioned elves, who will also pick up the tree for recycling after Christmas.

The tree lot, which opened today, operates until Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Trees prices range from $70 to $130, and it costs $20 for delivery and retrieval.

(Tip: Beginning Monday, you can time it up right to go ice skating on the roof before or after selecting your tree.)

Mimicking the tree lot hours, the mixed-use development will also host a Christmas market each weekend on the south lawn. It will offer hot apple cider from Bellina Alimentari; winter gear from Mountain High Outfitters; hot chocolate and s'mores from Williams Sonoma; wreaths for sale from Tree Elves; and wine samples from City Winery.

Guests may also learn how to make ornaments and other crafts at workshops held by Binders and Citizen Supply. And Santa will be around to pose for pictures — bring your own camera — during the following times:

· Nov. 24 to 26, Dec. 17, and Dec. 21 to 24: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

· Dec. 2 to 3, Dec. 9 to 10, and Dec. 16: 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

If you’d also like a photo with the Grinch, you can do so beginning on Black Friday after a “Naughty or Nice Parade.” Participants are asked to meet at The Shed at 10:30 a.m. and choose a team: Santa or Grinch.

Buttons will designate whose side you're on, and the teams will be led by their chosen leader down the Beltline. The parade, complete with LED balloons and music from brass and hip-hop band JohnBoy and SurroundSound, will circle back to the market for a grand finale at noon.

The Grinch will then head to the market’s second floor. There he’ll pretty much remain, hanging out and posing with patrons, until Christmas Eve.

Ponce City Market is located at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.
