In the literal whirlwind of a winter storm that iced over Cobb Countyit's easy to lose track of your calendar.

But the day set aside to honor a civil rights icon is coming up, and don’t fret if you find yourself with a plan to celebrate.

The Cobb County NAACP's Martin Luther King Jr. Day event starts 10 a.m. Monday at Turner Chapel AME Church, 492 North Marietta Parkway in Marietta.

There will be three-minute performances ranging from dance to spoken word honoring King’s message.

If you can't go Monday, head to Kennesaw on Sunday.
