Seventy tons of sand will turn Snellville’s Towne Green into a beach on Saturday.

Snellville Tourism and Trade is holding its sixth annual Beach Blast this weekend. Along with sand, the event is bringing a mascot parade, DJ and water slide to the city’s center. Mascots in the parade will include Chopper from the Gwinnett Braves and the Chick-fil-A cow.

Guests who purchase a $10 all-day pass can enjoy unlimited turns at a rock wall and bungee jump, play in inflatable attractions and putt on a 9-hole mini-golf course. Individual tickets for these attractions are also available for purchase.

Live music will be played by the Gold Standard Band from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. If you’re the competitive type, there will also be a watermelon eating contest, hula hoop contest and cake and cookie walks.

The event begins at 2 p.m. Attractions open at 2:15 p.m.
