Bestselling authors, aspiring writers and veterans will come to together in Milton for a day in November.

On Veteran’s Day — Saturday, Nov. 11— the city will host a Veteran’s Day breakfast before kicking off its annual literary festival.

Most events will take place at Milton’s new city hall, at 2006 Heritage Walk, while the Olde Blind Dog and the Milton Library will host more.

All of the festival activities are free and open to the public. Books from authors who are speaking will be on sale.

The day starts with breakfast at 8 a.m. in the council chambers and will be accompanied by a talk from A.J. Tony Tata, a former brigadier general and 28-year veteran of the United States Army. Tata has written several books and has appeared on Fox News, NBC and CBS. Breakfast is complimentary.

A keynote speech will then be delivered by Bret Witter, an eight-time New York Times bestselling author. He co-wrote “The Monuments Men” which was adapted for a 2014 movie starring Matt Damon, George Clooney and Bill Murray.

Mary Kay Andrews, a New York Times bestselling author, writer of 24 novels and former AJC features reporter — will speak during lunch, beginning at 12:45 p.m. The cost of lunch is $10.
