Military families and service members have some dates they might want to add to their calendars this summer.
The Military Family Support Center in Marietta is hosting a sale on its groceries for shoppers with commissary privileges and proper identification.
The sale is open to eligible National Guard and Reserve members, active-duty military members and and veterans with proper ID and privileges.
Groceries will be sold at cost with a five percent surcharge, according to a news release from the Cobb Chamber, which maintains the facility. The center will sell 1,000 items including meat, produce and frozen goods.
The center opened about a year ago at 1901 Terrell Mill Road just beyond the gates of Dobbins Air Reserve Base under the direction of the federal Defense Commissary Agency.
The sales will be June 15 to 17, July 20 to 22 and Aug. 17 to 19. On Thursdays and Fridays, sale times will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and end an hour earlier on Saturdays.
