Researchers said in a new study that they confirmed a link between people with lighter colored eyes and alcoholism.

The study conducted at the University of Vermont found that the link is strongest in people with blue eyes, but green and gray eyes have links too.

This is the first study to make a direct connection between a person’s eye color and alcohol dependence.

Researchers discovered genetic components that determine eye color line up along the same chromosome are as genes linked to alcohol dependence.

Why the connection between eye color and alcoholism exists is unknown.
