Coca-Cola has a variety of drink products, but its latest one has a special ingredient that sets it apart from the others: fiber.

Coke Plus, a calorie- and sugar- free diet soda that includes 5 grams of fiber, is one way the company is attempting to diversify and revamp its brand.

"We're looking to add functional beverages," CEO James Quincy told Business Insider. Its newest drink is a part of a "fast-growing segment where ingredients are added to beverages to address specific dietary needs."

The corporation is also attempting to recover from a recent plummet in sales. Earlier this week, the corporation announced it would be cutting 1,200 corporate jobs later this year as part of an expanded cost-cutting program.

While the Coke Plus could serve as a healthier alternative for consumers, there are no known plans to sell it in the United States. However, it has already hit the market in Japan.
