A: Tishbi Onion Cabernet spread, a recent sofi (specialty outstanding food innovation) award recipient, comes from Israel, via the Canadian company, Fruit of the Land Inc. The spreads and preserves feature wines from the family-owned Tishbi Winery in Israel. Other flavors include Fig Cabernet, Cherry Shiraz, Sangria, Mango Chardonnay and Strawberry Champagne. Locally, you can find them at the Spicy Peach, 2887 N. Druid Hills Road, Atlanta, 404-334-7200. The store recently sold out of the onion Cabernet, but it’s on order, so call ahead to make sure it’s in stock when you plan to visit. Each jar costs $7.99. I realize that isn’t the low price you found out of state, but at least you won’t incur any shipping costs by buying it locally.

A: Well, Liz, I found grape Frooties by Tootsie locally, but you might reconsider and order them online when you find out the difference in price. Party City, 4743 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, 770-395-9226, sells these candies with soft chewy centers and crunchy candy shells individually for 7 cents a piece. So, for instance, if you wanted 100 pieces, you’d end up paying $7. However, a bag of 360 grape Frooties through www.partycity.com, costs you only $8.99, not including shipping, but I’m sure you’d still come out ahead.
