Q: Recently, my 90-year-old mother gave me her beautiful Black Diamond mink coat with sable collar. I told Mom I would like to turn it into a throw. She is all for the idea. The problem is where to have it done. Are there any businesses that specialize in this sort of work? Any point in the right direction would be appreciated. Many thanks. — Lance Novak, Smyrna

A: Lance, you're in luck. I found Rita Glosser, who runs ReMinkie Memory Bears and Custom Keepsakes, which transforms fur coats or stoles into stuffed bears, blankets and throws. She started the business 21 years ago, after retiring to Florida. Her first project was turning her mother's fur stole into a teddy bear. Today, ReMinkie also takes those old neckties and recycles them into pillows, quilts and, yes, bears. And for horse fanciers, ReMinkie turns that favorite horse blanket into lovely custom pillows. Her price for a fur throw is $795, and she uses a velvet cotton backing so the throw won't slip and slide when you place it on a chair or bed. For more information and shipping information, you can call her at 800-373-6465. Q: A while ago, I bought my son Mustang cologne spray at T.J. Maxx. I’ve also bought it at Walmart online. He really likes it, but is now having trouble finding it in stores and online, as am I. He lives in Michigan. Please let me know if is available anywhere or if it is no longer being made. Thanks so much for your help. — Stephanie Cherniak, email

A: Mustang cologne for men is an Estee Lauder fragrance that was launched about eight years ago. The scent features notes of patchouli, lavender and lemon mingled with cedar wood and pipe tobacco. The fragrance is now relegated to a few obscure websites. I found 1-ounce spray of Mustang cologne in a black gift tin for $9.99 through www.amerimark.com. I called to make sure they had it in stock, and they had 402 bottles, so I think it's safe to say you can stock up for your son.

Q: I have an unfinished project in need of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Satin Leafy Green spray paint. The big box stores no longer have that color. When I Googled it, it was available online for $30 to $40 per $5 can. My attempt to access the customer service department at the Rust-Oleum company went unanswered. Using the lighter color, green apple, simply does not add the punch I need. Shouldn’t they have a case stuck on a back shelf I could buy? Thank you kindly. — Ann Beatty, Milton

A: Ann, this is going to be easier than you thought, and you'll be spritzing that Leafy Green paint all over the place in no time. Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Satin Leafy Green spray paint is available in a package of six 12-ounce cans for $23.22. Check out www.homedepot.com, and you can order your Leafy Green color paint (model number 249072) online and either have it shipped to your home or to the nearest Home Depot store. And the really good news is that shipping is free with either option.
