If you're proposing to your significant other in Atlanta, why not take the experience up a notch?
Sharks in the backdrop or even an uber-exclusive rooftop above the city would turn the 'I do' into a 'heck yes, I do.'
Whichever option you choose to pop the question, these six locations are sure to make your proposal memorable for both you and your prospective spouse:
Freeman's Mill Park
1401 Alcovy Road, Lawrenceville. 770-822-8840.
Freeman's Mill Park has several picturesque spots that would make the ideal location to pop the question as well as spend some time together before and after. A historic gristmill provides the perfect backdrop, or drop to one knee on the old stone bridge. The Alcovy River also provides some excellent scenery, and at one point, a small waterfall creates a serene, cozy setting.

The helipad at The W Atlanta – Downtown
45 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., Atlanta. 404-582-5800.
The W Atlanta – Downtown hotel has a helicopter tour and package that will make your proposal impressive on a James Bond-style level. Propose on the helipad atop the hotel and then enjoy a tour of the city's skyline as you toast your engagement with champagne. You can then enjoy dinner together at the hotel and spend the night in a studio suite.
The Georgia Aquarium
225 Baker St. NW, Atlanta. 404-581-4000.
The Georgia Aquarium offers some uniquely fun places to propose. Schedule an animal encounter with dolphins, sea otters or penguins, and pop the question as they play a supporting role. The staff has even helped out in some unusual ways for some proposals, including calling a "random" volunteer up during a presentation and having the diver hold up a fish-shaped sign with a marriage proposal on it. The top of Arabia Mountain
3787 Klondike Road, Lithonia. 770-484-3060.
Arabia Mountain is a beautiful, exposed granite hill that has a diverse and beautiful landscape. The summit is accessible after a relatively short one-way hike of about two thirds of a mile, according to atlantatrails.com, and you can propose to your significant other as you take in the sweeping views from the top. The area also includes two small reflective lakes, so take some time and explore the area with your spouse-to-be.
Piedmont Park
Bounded by 10th Street, Monroe Drive and Piedmont Avenue in Midtown Atlanta. 404-875-7275.
Propose at Piedmont Park as you enjoy the city's skyline as well as the park's natural beauty. A covered gazebo is recommended by atlantatrails.com as a perfect proposal setting, and the site also suggests following it up with a romantic picnic for two on the lawn. If you like the setting enough, you can return and have your wedding in Piedmont Park.

On a movie or TV tour
Atlanta's popularity as a setting for television shows and movies has also made tours of featured and related locations popular. From "Gone with the Wind" to "The Walking Dead," you can take a tour and propose to your significant other at a site associated with one of their favorite films or shows. To geek out even further, dress up as zombies, as Scarlett and Rhett, or other appropriate characters.
