Tyler Perry to speak at Tuskegee University’s May 7 commencement

Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry will be the keynote speaker at Tuskegee University’s 2016 Spring commencement.

Tyler, creator of Madea character in numerous films and the television series , “House of Payne” and “The Haves and The Haves Not”, will deliver a message of “inspiration and encouragement: to the newest class of Tuskegee graduates, which will number more than 500.

The graduation will be held at 10 a.m. May 7 in Gen. Daniel “Chappie” James Arena on the university’s campus in Tuskegee, Ala.

First Lady Michelle Obama was the 2015 Spring commencement speaker.
