Jazz Pianist Joe Alterman will perform two jazz concerts at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta on Oct. 11.
The Atlanta native, who has performed around the world, will bring his unique sound to the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre, 5342 Tilly Mill Road in Dunwoody. The concerts are at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Alterman moved to New York in 2007 to study music at New York University, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in music. He and his trio has performed at the Blue Note Jazz Club as the opening act for Les McCann, Ramsey Lewis and Philip Bailey.
Alterman’s most recent recording, “Georgia Sunset”, which was produced by Houston Person, garnered much critical praise and reached No. 6 on the JazzWeek radio charts.
