TC CARSON AND L’TANYA “SUGARLIPS” SHIELDS
TC Carson and L’Tanya “Sugarlips” Shields will headline "Jazz on the Hill" on Sept. 29, as a part of the month-long 47th anniversary celebration of Bishop Barbara King and Hillside International Truth Center..
Carson, an accomplished singer, is best known for portraying Kyle Barker on the sitcom, “Living Single.” He is also known as the voice of Mace Windu on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
Shields, as a member of Voice of Atlanta choir, recorded with and accompanied Elton John on his “Peachtree Road World Tour” to critical acclaim.
Hillside's "Jazz on the Hill" is an outdoor event, rain or shine. Bring your food or purchase at the concert. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for general seating.

Join Russell Gunn and the Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra during a rousing soundtrack to Hammonds House Museum’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.
The Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra is an ultra-modern, contemporary jazz big band, led and conducted by trumpeter Russell Gunn. It features vocals by Dionne Farris. The ensemble pays homage to the tradition of jazz while extending the boundaries into funk, hip hop and soul.

DANCING GOAT FOLKFEST
If you want to be part of an old mountain party Sept. 29 through Sept. 30, visit the “Dancing Goat Folkfest” in downtown Ellijay.
This juried folk art show will present the work of untrained artists, known and new and sharing the old mountain music and oral traditions.
There will be food, music and activities for the whole family.
The music will be local and the storytelling will recall the old mountain tales.

DECATUR TINY HOUSE FESTIVAL
In a city full of McMansions, big isn’t always the best way to go.
The two-day annual Decatur Tiny House Festival will be held Sept. 29 through Sept. 30 on Electric Avenue.
The event gives people a glimpse of tiny living and the tiny house movement. Tour nearly two dozen tiny houses and meet with tiny house newbies and veterans.
DIY tiny house builder Andrea Burns will share designing tips. There will also be vendors and other activities.
