Less than a month after The Vortex announced it temporarily closed both locations, the Atlanta staple has reopened the bar in Little Five Points.
A notice on the website reveals The Vortex has celebrated 28 years of operation by reopening for takeout service at the Moreland Avenue spot Monday.

A temporary takeout menu can be found online. According to The Vortex, it features some of the bar's most popular offerings, including the Classic Bypass burger and the Lone Star Tex Melt. Sides are also available and include tater tots, French fries and fried sweet plantains. Customers can satisfy their sweet tooth with funnel cake fries and they can wash it all down with a fountain drink, bottled and canned non-alcoholic drinks.
But for hungry patrons who wish to partake in boozy beverages, The Vortex is celebrating by offering their entire beer selection at a 50% discount.

To place an order, call (404) 688-1828 Ext. 1. What Now Atlanta reported patrons can also place an order in person at the Little Five Points location, which is the only one open for takeout. For the time being, operating hours are 1 p.m. -8 p.m. seven days a week. The Midtown location remains closed until further notice.
"We will not be opening the Midtown location at this time as we believe the L5P location will be more conducive to the government requirements still in place," co-owner Michael Benoit told What Now Atlanta.
“Ample free parking is available, making the transactions easier, and allowing plenty of room to maintain proper social distancing,” he continued. “We’re just hoping that enough folks will support us by ordering take-out, so we can continue to help assist our team members through this difficult time. That would be awesome.”
