Taking a trip at the last minute can sometimes be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be.

If you catch the travel bug this year and want to get out of town on short notice, there are some places that might make more sense than others.

In a new list, travel experts ranked the top last-minute destinations for 2020, including some close to Georgia.

The list, which was originally published by global news site eTurboNews, took more than 150,000 global destinations into consideration before naming the 10 domestic and three international last-minute spots that are growing in popularity.

To determine the rankings, the travel experts looked at the share of flight searches for a destination in the first week of 2019 and compared it to the share of searches for the same place in the first week of 2020.

This year’s popular last-minute destinations aren’t typical destinations like New York or Las Vegas, according to the report. Instead, people are looking to places like Florida and Oklahoma City to explore on a whim.
