The 34th Annual Miniature Show and Sale, which kicks off Friday night at the Holiday Inn Perimeter, is a two-day event put on by the Atlanta Miniature Society (AMS), a 35-year-old organization that’s growing in size — its 56 members range from three preteen girls up to people in their 70s.

Wilson Santiago works on a miniature bed dressed out in some of his exquisite pillows and spreads for which he has become well known in the field. The Atlanta Miniature Society member will be at the 34th Annual Miniature Show & Sale on Friday and Saturday.

This in-the-works room box will be a miniature china shop when completed by Atlanta Minature Society Member Clarice Elder. The Dunwoody resident will display it in the exhibition area showcasing members' projects at that 34th Annual Miniature Show & Sale on Friday and Saturday.

Clever room boxes are part of the decor of Atlanta Miniature Society member Clarice Elder's Dunwoody home. This is a two-sided room under a glass dome, which rotates. One side shows a gentleman dressing, while the other side represents the place a man goes to relax -- right down to the miniature bottle of Jack Daniel's and the hunting trophy on the wall.

This pottery made by Atlanta Miniature Society member Susan Pippin is typical of the varied expertise of club members. Duluth resident Pippin's specialty is hand thrown, raku fired pottery that stands 1 inch tall or less.
