Small Iowa fire station welcomes 6 babies in 7 months

Firefighters at a station in a small Iowa town have had six babies over the past seven months, prompting one to ask, ‘What’s in the water?’

It could be a record for a small town fire department. Six firefighters in Mediapolis, Iowa, welcomed six babies in just seven months.

The six firefighters all work at the same fire station, and since August, they have had three girls and three boys.

"We actually didn't plan it. It might seem like we did," Whitney Eberhardt told ABC 7 Chicago.

The station just keeps growing, and one of the firefighters joked that everyone got really good at throwing baby showers.

“I’ve heard that there must not have been enough fire calls,” Eberhardt added.

One of the wives posted pictures of the group holding their babies, and the photos went viral.
