Q: I have been trying to find whole-wheat bread flour for over a year. All I’m able to find online are 50-pound bags. Yikes! I have dozens of recipes for whole wheat bread that call for whole wheat bread flour, substituting regular whole wheat flour, and then adding wheat gluten, is extremely inconsistent. I’d really like to find it in 5-pound bags, and I’m fine with either driving somewhere in the Atlanta area or ordering it online. Thank you so much for your help. Dorie Maddocks, email
A: I found Great River organic whole wheat bread flour. The flour can be used in bread machines that feature a whole grain cycle. Wisconsin-based Great River is currently working with Amazon to get the 5-pound bag stocked with Amazon Prime Pantry. In the meantime, you can call the company at 608-687-9580 to order your flour. Each 5-pound bag costs $8.83, not including shipping.
Q: As kids, my friends and I loved those long Chick-O-Stick candies that were peanut flavored on the inside, and the outside was coated in tiny flecks of toasted coconut. I know they make individual ones, but I thought I heard somewhere that they also come without sugar. I’d sure love to find those. So far, I’m not having any luck. Are they discontinued? If not, can you help me find these, please? F. Phillips, Decatur
A: Sugar-free Chick-O-Stick nuggets, made with Splenda, are still produced by the Atkinson Candy Company, which began its Texas-based operation in 1932. The company also turns out venerable favorites, including Black Cow, giant two-pound peppermint sticks, and Slo Poke chewy caramels. You’ll find 3.75-ounce bags of sugar-free Chick-O-Stick for $1.54 hanging on peg boards in the candy and gum aisle of Walmart, 2525 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, 404-464-4480.

Q: My dad really enjoys pickled eggs. He used to buy Big John’s brand, but he says they’re not around anymore. I’d like to find them with your help. I think it would be a nice surprise for him. Thank you. Bill Smith, email
A: Bill, you can easily keep your father supplied with generous 10-ounce jars of Big John’s pink-tinted pickled eggs. You’ll find them for $6.39 at Publix, 2969 N. Druid Hills Road, Atlanta, 404-638-6022. You’ll find the pickled eggs between Big John’s pickled sausage and Big John’s Red Hots, on the bottom shelf of an end cap at the back of the store.
