If you want a quick and easy gift for mom on Mother’s Day (May 14), the experts at Ebates say skip the flowers and invest in a gift card. But while one in five moms in the survey conducted on behalf of the cash-back shopping site said a gift card to her favorite store is the way to go, there is something special about giving your mom a thoughtful gift. And don’t be fooled, no matter what she says, your mom does want a Mother’s Day gift (only 8 percent of moms said they don’t).
After gift cards, experiences, jewelry, spa packages and, yes, even flowers rank high on the wish lists of most moms. More than half of Americans said they plan to spend $50 or less on a Mother’s Day gift, and most of them are buying flowers.
Almost one-third of Americans start shopping for a gift just a week before Mother’s Day. So get to the store and buy your mom something nice. These ideas will get you started:
