POW
Minky, a 7-month-old spayed Maltese, is a sweet, somewhat undersocialized adolescent who will need time to come out of her shell, and a patient human to give her more confidence. She will need housebreaking assistance, and this is most easily accomplished with proper use of a crate (to which she has already been started). Maltese are somewhat fragile dogs who are best suited for quiet environments without young children. They need regular grooming to keep their coats from becoming painfully matted; this is best done by a professional. Minky shouldn’t need a lot of exercise; she would enjoy a daily walk or two, and will possibly enjoy the company of other small, calm dogs, so bring any existing dogs to meet her. If you are looking for a lap dog to be your companion, come visit Minky. The Atlanta Humane Society has training classes and lessons to help you raise your puppy right. Minky is up-to-date on her puppy vaccinations (though she will need a rabies shot in the upcoming weeks) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
