Brownie, an 11-month-old spayed miniature poodle, is a sweet, happy adolescent who walks well on a leash and enjoys the company of people. She may need housebreaking assistance, and this is best accomplished with the proper use of a crate. Poodles are intelligent, affectionate dogs, but they are not usually couch potatoes. Brownie will need daily walks and activities to engage her body and brain. Poodles tend to shed less than other breeds (though no dog is 100 percent hypoallergenic). Brownie will need daily brushing and frequent grooming by a professional. This young dog might enjoy the company of other small or medium-sized dogs; we don’t know how she feels about dogs or kids, so bring the whole family to meet her. The Atlanta Humane Society has training classes and lessons to help you raise your puppy right. Brownie is up-to-date on her puppy vaccinations (though she will need a rabies shot in the upcoming weeks) and has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
