Sandy, an 11-month-old spayed terrier/shepherd mix, is a sweet adolescent dog who was adopted as a puppy and returned. She is active, and still a puppy in many ways, so her humans will need to be able to exercise and stimulate her effectively. Sandy is smart, trainable, and will thrive on structure and leadership. Adopting an adolescent dog can have its challenges, but this fun dog will bond with you as well as any young puppy, and her housetraining shouldn’t take as long (the Atlanta Humane Society recommends crate training for all new adoptees to help with housetraining and general adaptation to a new environment). She knows a few commands already, but would benefit from more training. Sandy enjoys the company of other dogs and is very playful. She’s not very large, either, and is almost full grown. Bring any existing dogs and children to meet this active, affectionate girl. She will need a rabies shot; the cost is included in her adoption fee. Sandy has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Campus, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 10 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications.
