Yankee, a 3-year-old spayed golden retriever/bassett hound mix, is a gorgeous, happy girl who came to the AHS from another shelter with a litter of puppies. Yankee is affectionate and enjoys people — both hallmarks of her breeds. All dogs thrive on structure and leadership, and Yankee is no exception. The Atlanta Humane Society recommends crate training and obedience training to help new dogs get settled in. We don’t know how Yankee is with children or dogs, so bring the whole family to meet her. Both goldens and bassetts tend to be great family dogs. If you are looking for an adult dog who can make your family complete, come take a look at this beautiful red girl. Yankee has been microchipped and dewormed. She will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Campus, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 11 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications.
