For years, the Monroe Girls Drum and Bugle Corps donned their plumed shakos and purple uniforms and quick-stepped their way into the hearts of parade and festival-goers across the country. They disbanded in 1983 but will return Dec. 6 as co-grand marshals of the city’s 60th annual Christmas parade.
