Photos: A surprise and a new face
Donnie Fritts was supposed to die, but the Canton resident decided he would fight, then fight some more, to keep hold on the life he shares with his wife, Sharon. Diagnosed in 2005 with a rare form of cancer, he lost most of his face to the creeping disease. Now, he is about to get a new face -- new nose, new eyebrows, a plastic palate to replace the one cancer took away. In these photos, friends surprised Fritts with a party at the Barrett Road Church of God in Calhoun in November.
