Things to Do
Photos: Remembering Lewis Grizzard
Lewis Grizzard, the quintessential Southern humorist, was born at Fort Benning on Oct. 20, 1946. He would go on to write a regular column for the Atlanta Constitution and pen numerous best-selling books, including "If I Ever Get Back to Georgia, I'm Gonna Nail My Feet to the Ground" and "Chili Dawgs Always Bark in the Night." He survived four marriages and, for many years, a congenital heart defect. The latter finally took his life on March 20, 1994.
