Oglethorpe University is a private, liberal arts college in Brookhaven. At its current location since 1915, many of Oglethorpe's campus buildings are built in a Gothic revival architecture style. The school was originally chartered in 1834 and is named in honor of General James Edward Oglethorpe, founder of the Colony of Georgia.
