Puppy attempts to whip Britain’s fattest cat into shape

This personal trainer can’t help but barks orders.

When Ulric, a 30-pound Norwegian forest cat known as Britain’s fattest cat refused to lose weight even when placed on a strict diet, his owner was forced to resort to the cat’s worst nightmare: a puppy.

The good news is that the rambunctious pup is helping the morbidly obese cat shed some pounds.

The bad news is that Ulric seems to hate every minute of it.

Ulric, at 7 years old, weighs twice as much as a normal cat. According to the Daily Mail report, owner Jan Mitchell has tried everything to encourage Ulric to lose weight. She says while he's a lovely cat, he's also lazy and greedy. Mitchell even entered her tubby cat into a pet slimming competition hosted by an animal charity, but after a year, Ulric barely had lost a pound.

It was time for drastic measures, as Ulric desperately needed to lose weight in order to be healthy.

Enter Dennis, a 5-month-old energetic and playful Pugalier (a pug crossed with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.) The dog is just the thing Ulric needed to get moving. Mitchell reports that the pair chase each other around the garden and Ulric gets some additional exercise by swatting away the puppy, who reportedly loves his feline buddy and follows him everywhere.

The dog has helped the fat cat lose 2 pounds, which is more than he ever lost with dieting alone.

While Ulric still has a long way to go to be considered at a healthy weight, it looks like the puppy personal trainer has Ulric on the right track.
