Honey Bee the cat may be blind, but that doesn’t stop her from exploring the outdoors.

Her owners have found a safe way for the adventurous calico to get plenty of time to sniff the ground and listen to birds sing.

They take her on hikes.

Honey Bee walks quite well on a harness, but when she gets tired, she simply hitches a ride with an owner atop their hiking pack. When she squirms, she’s ready to hit the trail again.

Honey Bee sets the pace for the hikes, which can sometimes be slow-paced, depending on what she finds while exploring.

While Honey Bee clearly loves hiking, her owners caution on her Facebook page that it is not advisable to take the typical housecat on such trips unless they show a great interest in the outdoors, and can tolerate the gear and terrain.

Honey Bee has traveled extensively. She was born in Fiji but now lives in the Seattle area, where there are plenty of hiking opportunities. Honey Bee was recently featured on People Pets and is gaining fans from all over the world.

In addition to her love for hiking, Honey Bee serves as a foster sister for other blind cats and is an advocate for her previous home, a rescue organization called Animals Fiji.
