The rankings are out and the Labrador retriever is still the top dog in the hearts of animal lovers, for 24 years to be exact, breaking the record once held by the poodle.
The American Kennel Club released its rankings of the most popular dog breeds for last year Thursday morning.

The Bulldog has clawed up the dog world's rankings coming in at number four for the first time.
Rounding out the top 10, one dog many people are afraid of, the Rottweiler, which pushed out a dog from the other end of the size spectrum, the Dachshund which slipped from 10 to 11, The Associated Press reported.
