From the frankly frightening to the safely spooky, Cobb County has trick or treat and Halloween events for all ages and terror tolerance levels.
Cobb is home to Six Flags Over Georgia, which through Oct. 31 is running "the largest and scariest Fright Fest in park history." A quick trip to Six Flags' Fright Fest web page prepares you for the gore level, but parents of younger children who want to avoid the ghastly can attend the Thrills by Day children's programming. Stick to the Bugs Bunny Boomtown for trick or treating. Children 12 and younger can dress up (no face masks) for a costume contest with Looney Tunes characters 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the entire park and may see roving scarecrows and nice witches, but after 6 p.m., and on Fridays, the frights begin.
