With his head held high, as a true super hero, or super dad would do, Arnold walked his daughter to school dressed as Superman, cape hanging out from beneath his coat and the red underwear worn over the tights for all to see.

"He told her he would take her to nursery [school] dressed as Superman, and that it didn't matter what anyone else thought just as long as she was happy," Claire Phipps, Danny's fiancee, said.

"He told her if anyone said anything that their opinions didn't matter because the costume wasn't just for boys - girls could wear it as well," Phipps added.

Phipps sent the photo to the Life of Dad Facebook page, where it has gained 11k likes since last week.
