SunTrust Park is only a few years old. But parts of the stadium are already getting a face lift.
When the Braves kick off their fourth season at the Cobb County stadium in 2020, there will be a new attraction in center field.

The “Back Porch,” sponsored by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, will be ready on opening day for fans to socialize, eat and, of course, cheer on the Braves.

The new space is billed as a “laid-back patio.” The entire area is covered and can fit up to 150 people, making it a good spot for groups to gather on game day.

The Back Porch will also offer a variety of food and drink packages, which will be served when gates open an hour before gametime.

According to reporting from What Now Atlanta, the remodel of the space is expected to cost $997,443.

The patio, which is meant to feel like a southern porch, “will be accented with reclaimed wood, warm, rustic lighting, a variety of seating options,” the outlet reports.

Prices for the patio begin at $113 per person, according to the Braves' website. It's located under the main BravesVision board in center field.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
