It’s always good to return home.

After a seven-year absence, the nonprofit’s Monarchs & Margaritas fundraiser will return to Dunwoody Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 30.

The annual fundraiser will benefit the Dunwoody Nature Center's program and support continued improvements to the park, which is located at 5343 Roberts Drive. Last year, the event raised more than $40,000.

The event has been held at various locations since 2009. Executive Director Alan Mothner said the fundraiser was moved from the park because some of the meadows were damaged by erosion and the building space not was large enough to host an event of that size. Since then, the meadow has been restored and there have been physical improvements made to the location, including the addition of a 1,700-square-foot deck and patio.

Last year the even raised more than $40,000.

There are additional changes as well. The name has been expanded to “& Moonshine”, prices have been reduced and signature moonshine cocktails will be served throughout the evening.

The night will include music by Cicada Rhythm, a whole roasted pig and other food and drinks, a raffle and an auction.

Tickets begin at $75 for individuals.
