Get out your whistle and get ready to celebrate. Atlanta’s favorite street performer “Baton Bob” is being immortalized on canvas.

Atlanta architecture and interior design firm tvsdesign commissioned a portrait of Bob for the newly christened Hyatt Midtown Atlanta  to hang in the hotel as an homage to the colorful character. For more than a decade, Bob has entertained residents, visitors and passersby of downtown, Midtown and Buckhead as he paraded the streets in colorful outfits –including a majorette uniform and wedding dress  — while blowing the whistle and twirling the baton that is his signature.

The interior design firm and Hyatt, which has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation and reflagging (it was previously a Wyndham and an unbranded Hotel Midtown), will unveil the portrait at a 6 p.m. ceremony Aug. 27 that is part of the hotel’s formal introduction to the Midtown community.
