On Monday, McDonald’s helped some health care workers in Atlanta kick off National Nurses Week by donating 1,000 free happy meals.

This year, individuals and companies alike are appreciating nurses even more during the coronavirus pandemic.

McDonald’s of Atlanta delivered 1,000 Happy Meals to nurses at Northside Hospital.

“We consider the nurses here family, and we are honored to be able to serve them on National Nurses Day,” Atlanta McDonald’s owner/operator Jeffrey Heidrick said in a statement. “On behalf of all Atlanta McDonald’s owner/operators, thank you nurses for all that you do every day and all that you are doing on the front lines to fight COVID-19.”

In addition to the giveaway this week, McDonald's has donated 13,000 meals to frontline workers amid the pandemic.
