Marietta Square to hold event aimed at last minute holiday shoppers

Still have some shopping to do? Marietta Square will hold a holiday market this weekend

Television shows and movies often depict the town square as having a gazebo and lots of lawn space, but not all town squares are the same.

Still have some last minute holiday shopping to do? If you want to avoid the mall parking lot or don’t have time to wait for an online order, there’s another way to knock out the rest of your shopping.

Marietta Square will hold a Christmas market starting 9 a.m. this Saturday.

While the square is usually known for its weekly farmers market, this time the market has a holiday twist.

In addition to the typical selection of produce, there will be an artisan market featuring locally made goods on the North Park Square 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

After you’ve done you’re shopping, you can also visit Glover Park, where a winter wonderland is on display. It includes games, holiday lights and a visit from Santa.

Or, if you work up an appetite, the Marietta Square Food Tour is also happening on Saturday morning. It begins at 11 a.m. and takes attendees to seven local eateries to experience the best of the square's culinary options.

If you go: The Marietta Square Christmas Market will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, on the Marietta Square.
