Just because your garden isn’t growing doesn’t mean your green thumb is dead. The folks at Atlanta’s Oakland Cemetery can help you revive it at a free event.

The workshop at Oakland’s Beaumont Allen Greenhouse will teach attendees the basics of helping your trees grow and thrive.

It’s all about learning how to buy, prune and care for the right trees, which can add beauty (and property value) to your home, the event posting notes.

The workshop is aimed specifically at caring for newly planted trees, which can require special care in the first couple of years in order to thrive.

The event will be held inside, but there will be a hands-on demonstration if the weather permits. Cooper Sanchez and Butch Teal, of Oakland’s gardening staff, will lead the class.

Attendees should bring gardening gloves and pruners. More information on registering can be found here.
